Christmas

Marcus with his oversized hat...Christmas Eve Eve
Look at me...I'm getting so big!!

Our little family

Mom, Dad, and the grandparents too...

I'm tired so stop passing me around like a hot potato...Pllleeeasse!"
With Auntie Maxine...
With Nona (Jennine's mom)...
With cousin Kelly...
With mommy on Christmas Day...

This was Marcus 1st Christmas but it wasn't that exciting for him only because he is only 1 month old and doesn't know the difference between a regular day and Christmas day. :) We went to Curtis' parent's house (Grammy and Papa) on Christmas Eve for dinner. And then spent the night at my parent's house (Nona and Bapa) on Christmas Eve so we were ready for Christmas Day. They had family over for our traditional Christmas breakfast. Needless to say, Marcus did his usual thing...eat, sleep, poop, and wanted to be held. He received a GANGload of presents. Too bad he wasn't older to enjoy them all. His daddy & I did though, with the exception that we were exhausted by the end of the day from opening all of them...let's say, this baby is definitely not deprived.

On a sad note, Marcus ended up with his first cold. Curtis & I experienced our first (of hopefully not many) ER trips with the little boy. He had a fever of 100.1 so the doc wanted us to go have him looked out...turned out to be a virual infection & not a bacterial infection...THANK GOD! I haven't been getting very much sleep...neither has he...he has been pretty fussy. Plus, he has been throwing up from all the mucus yet he still has a hearty appetite...which is good but of course it has it's challenges esp when he still wants to nurse constantly at night...my supply is having a hard time keeping up with him. Soon he'll be feeling better and all will be good again. Until then, I better go get some rest.

Surviving the first month

Daddy's little boy...Momma's forever love...

What a big boy!

This has been the most amazing month of our lives...even though sleep deprivation has really taken it's toll...we still wouldn't change it for the world!!

It has been quite a roller coaster ride. One day Marcus is sleeping so wonderfully and the next he is on a mission to eat every 1 to 2 hrs for the ENTIRE day and night. It makes sense though cuz he has been growing like a champ! He seems to be gaining about 2 ounces/day. At our last appt on 12/17, he weighed 8 pds 11oz. That is quite a big difference from his birth weight.

This is a day in the life with Marcus...truly his favorite things to do:
Eat
Burp
Sleep in Mom's "moby"
Smile
Eat
Burp
Sleep over someone's shoulder
A little playtime on his back and/or tummy
Going on car rides

Oh did I mention that he likes to EAT, BURP, and SLEEP OVER SOMEONE'S SHOULDER? I suppose those are all "normal" newborn things which is wonderful...then flash to 3am & you want to sleep but he doesn't want to be put down in his crib or bassinet...that can make it interesting. I've heard he'll out grow it. Plus, I believe strongly that you can't spoil them...so I've learned to just suck it up! After all, babies are only this small once & this is the BEST job I have ever had!!!!!!!!
Of course we had to celebrate his 1 month b-day...here's some pics from our birthday photo shoot...

It's serious binky time...no messing around with this one! :)

Loving my Grammy...Marcus with his Nona...they are definitely in love.
