He's already 2 months old

Time is flying by...as always! I can barely believe Marcus is 2 months old and has doubled his birth weight...he weighs 11 pds 8 oz. He is getting chubby and we are lovin it!! More rolls to kiss...hehe.

We took him out to dinner for the first time on the 12th. He slept the entire time...what a sweetheart!

He got his first set of shots last Friday, the 18th. He did exceptionally well!! He is our tough little boy. He did just a little bit of crying...really, I think I did worse then him.

I am excited because we are now getting out more except it is super rainy this week. We really don't want to leave the house in this weather. But next week or as soon as the rain stops, we will be making some adventures.

In the meantime, we have had quite a few visitors to keep us busy this week. My girlfriend from college that lives in Hawaii came to visit on Sunday. My best friend came up to visit on Monday from LA. I have another girlfriend coming to town tomorrow. What can we say...Marcus is one popular boy! :)

I am also happy to report that is he officially sleeping for 5 hours at night! YIPPEE!!!!!! I am one stoked mama. He also has been talking, playing, chuckling and smiling a whole lot. He loves his "Papasan" chair and I'll catch him laughing and talking to the stuffed rabbit that hangs on it. It's the cutest thing ever!!

We sure are having a blast!

Milestones

New Year's Eve: First night Marcus went 5 hrs without food...doesn't sound like much?? It sure is a lot to his mommy that is used to nursing him every 2 hrs. Curtis held him through the New Year while I went to sleep at 10pm...one might say, boring mom...but really what do you expect from a new mommy? Curtis is used to that shift so it worked out nicely for them. They woke me up at midnight to give me a big kiss. :)

Every night since then, Marcus has been lasting about 5 hrs between 9:30 and 2:30 before requesting more food. It gives me quite a break to get some sleep. It is awesome...Curtis watches him until about 1am (in case he is fussy or wakes up) and then I am ready to take over at that time, if need be. So it has been nice lately that even after my shift begins, I am getting an extra hr of sleep.

Other cool stuff:
He is talking up a storm...of course he speaks in gibberish but it's so cute to see his personality coming out. Also, I discovered he LOVES getting his feet rubbed. So I spoil him with a foot massage every morning.

Marcus just started smiling in the last 2 weeks...and we know it's not gas!! He also sucked his thumb for the first time on Jan 3rd...

But he does prefer his binky over his thumb

His neck is getting stronger each day. We are amazed at seeing how high and long he can hold his head up. He really enjoys his playtime...tummy and back time...he's kicking, movin and shakin.

Time is flying by so we are still trying to savor EVERY moment. I am still at home full time so I'm not missing a thing. And Curtis is loving that he works from home because he is not really missing out on anything either. We feel really blessed!!!!
