This week vs last week

This week was quite an adjustment week for the Dunne family. I started work on Monday and that was extremely HARD on me. Marcus did OK though. My mom took care of him on Monday and Tuesday and Curtis took care of him the rest of the week. Luckily, I don't work a typical 8 to 5 type of job but nevertheless, I think it was the hardest week of my life.

The week before last was MUCH better. I was really trying to savor everyday with Marcus since I knew I was going to be going back to work. One of the most exciting things we did was we went to the pool at Grandma Betty's (Curtis' grandma's house). It was super warm...like a bathtub...he was practically falling asleep esp since it was close to his naptime. Here are some pictures from that day...
Grandma Betty and Grammy (Curtis' mom) with MarkieAww...this is our little family...do u think we are happy?
We also gave him his first food, rice cereal! I think that was the highlight of our week. Curtis was home so he got to share in the joy with me. Here are some pics of that...

Our little food monster
Then on Easter Sunday we drove down to Santa Barbara to meet up with my brother, sister-n-law, neice and my parents at Bacara for brunch. It was fabulous!! I was determined to eat 3 plates. I've lost all my baby weight and I don't seem to be having any problems losing more so I am pretty proud to say I ate all 3 plates plus dessert and still lost 2 pds. he he :) What can I say, other than I LOVE breastfeeding!!! One of the many perks of breastfeeding...fast weight loss for the mommie. Well here is a picture of my mom and him from brunch...

Nona (my mom) feeding Marcus his rice cereal...it's her first time feeding him. I think she's pretty excited!

More pics with his favorite toys...this one our neighbors gave us and he LOVES it! Thanks guys.

I don't know if this is Dad's favorite or Marcus'...they both are lovin' it in their own ways

Happy St Patty's Day

So kissable...I don't think I stopped kissing him all day
That's where he get's his Irish(ness) from...his daddy. I love my handsome "white" boys!!
We had a nice laid back day today...as you can see! :) Hope your St Patty's Day was just as nice!!

Last night we went to Grammy's and Papa's (Curtis' parents)...here are some pics of us hanging out...

Exciting stuff

Marcus has been having lots of "firsts" lately...and I am sure they will keep on coming for the next several yrs. :)

We went to the beach for the first time with him last week...no, we didn't play in the sand. Curtis and I just wanted to take him for a walk on the sand in his "Bob" stroller. Then on Friday, we went down to LA (not a first) but it was my good friend from college's bacherolette so I got to go out with some friends for a few hours (a first)...poor babysitters (my mom, dad and Curtis).

They said he did pretty well with the exception of some crying (for me) after I called to check on him and woke him up...BAD mommy...how was I to know that would happen...oops!! My brother gave us a room at his hotel so we got to take Marcus to West Hollywood (a first) and stay at a hotel (another one of his firsts). On Sunday, we took him into the hotel's swimming pool (yes, a first, are you seeing a pattern yet?). We had a blast!!!
Then this Monday, for the first time (I suppose you figured that out right?), Marcus rolled over and we got to put him in his Baby Einstein "jumper/entertainment center."
Before I forget...he is starting to say "maaa"...I don't know..."mama" might be his first word...well at least that's my wishful thinking...hehe :)
