Raspberries

Marcus officially made his first raspberry today. It was the cutest thing to look over and find his tongue out while making that sputtering noise. We caught a shot of it...
Somebody has got my heart in the palm of their hand, you think??? Well yesterday I was showing him how I can stick out my tongue and do some other funny faces. I don't know if it was due to that or just pure coincidence...whatever it was, I don't care, it sure is pretty special to see. Luckily he did it several times today so we got to enjoy it more than once. :)

Long time no post

Again, I am guilty of not posting for quite awhile. I have the best intentions but life just seems to get in the way. Like always, we have been extremely busy running around, having guests and watching Marcus grow.

First, we celebrated our 5 yr anniversary on May 24th. Curtis and I went out to dinner while his parents babysat. It was very nice for us but Marcus was pretty difficult that night. Papa just got him back down right before we got home...when we came home, this is what we found...
Come to find out he was out of sorts because his second tooth was coming in. He now has his two front bottom teeth.

My cousin, Patsy, came to town the following weekend. She was flying solo (she left her two kids and husband back in Sacramento...a break she definitely deserved!)

With Cousin Patsy...she was singing him to sleep

We went to see Sex and the City with my mom while Curtis watched Marcus. It was a really nice break for me as Marcus had been very needy/clingy to mom. I'm convinced it was due to his teething. So as hard as it was to leave him, it was a much needed break for me.

Then this last weekend we were in LA. I was barely recovering from my cousin's visit before it was time to pack up and leave to LA. We went down to celebrate my mom's b-day.
On the way, we stopped in Santa Barbara to visit Curtis' aunt, uncle and cousin. Here are a few pics of them...

While in LA, we went for a few trail hikes and hung by the pool. We also got to visit some friends and go to my neice, Alexa's, piano recitial. Here is a picture of her...
It was really nice, action packed like always...so we are a little exhausted!!

Marcus had his 6 month well baby check and shots in the midst of all this. He handled his shots like a pro...he is one tough little boy. He is now 17 pds and 26 3/4 inches, which leaves him in the 50 percentile for height and weight.

He is sitting up unsupported for pretty long periods now and even catches himself. He does a few face plants and fall backs but handles it without a single cry. I am amazed at how much of a tough "boy" he is...I expect him to freak out when he hits his head on the crib while rolling over. Oh did I mention how much he is rolling over...wow! He also is standing/holding himself up on things when we put him in position. He is also scooting backwards during tummy time. I can't really call it crawling just yet. I would guess that by next month he will be crawling.
He is "Mr. Grabby" too. He wants everything mommy and daddy have on (hats and glasses) or in their hands (water bottles, food, paper, pens...u get the pt). And if doesn't get what he wants, he is already trying to manipulate is. Oh yes, you can say he has a strong personality. It's cute to watch it unfold even though it can be challenging to deal with or divert him.

I think he is cutting another tooth now. He has been way out of sorts again. He is more insecure than normal and really wants to cuddle and be held by mommy (not really anyone else) 99% time. Believe it or not, I DO love it even though it is hard to get anything done. I may get frustrated and be exhausted but I am enjoying being the center of his world because I know it won't be like this forever. One day I will look back at this time and wish it were here again. :)
