Eight weeks

There is my little belly growing OH so fast! I cannot believe how much faster I am showing this time around. I know people told me that all the time but you don't get it until it happens to you. I think I was 16 weeks before my belly was this size when I was pregnant with Marcus....ha...I'm only 8 weeks in this picture with baby #2.
Every day it is sinking in more and more. I am having pretty bad morning sickness, something I did not experience at all with Marcus. I definitely can't handle uncooked meats and random things set me off. The nausea comes in waves. I can be fine one second and then yucky the next and then fine again. It is a roller coaster and I can't wait for it to be over!! As far as cravings go, my #1 craving is orange juice! Other than that, I have random little ones like cheeseburgers and french fries. Until next time...

Christmas came early for us!

It was a cold morning on Saturday, December 5th. I had gotten up early to help host a garage sale with my neighbor, Michelle. I was supposed to go for a long run with my girlfriend, Teresa, later that afternoon. Since we always run far and hard, and the fact that my period was several days late, I decided to take a pregnancy test. For those that don't know, Curtis & I had been trying to conceive again for about 3 months. Needless to say, I took MANY pregnancy tests in the last months and I was just going through the motions again to be safe. To my surprise, this time the test result was POSITIVE. Since the second line was very faint (two lines means pregnant, one line means not), I embarked on test #2 and then #3. Sure enough they ALL came out positive. Since Marcus was sleeping in our bed with Curtis, I opted not to wake Curtis up to share this exciting news. I went about my morning with Michelle, selling items and kept this enormous secret to myself. When Curtis and Marcus joined us later that morning, I told Michelle I had to sneak across the street. I packaged up one of the positive tests with a post-it note saying, "We are pregnant." (see picture below)

I asked Marcus to give Daddy the present. I wish I had taken a picture of his face after he opened it...he said, "No way!" (same thing he said when we found out we were pregnant with Marcus)...and then he continued on with "Is this for real!?" "Seriously?" He was beside himself with happiness!!

We Skyped my parents with the fabulous news. They were totally surprised and excited...so thrilled that they decided to drive up from Pasadena to celebrate with us in the evening.

Curtis went golfing that afternoon with our friend, Mike. He arrived later with a beautiful bouquet and card!

We called his parents when he got home and told them to come over. My parents were here at that point. Curtis' parents had it pretty much figured out by then. We got to share the news with them in person and had a celebratory dinner with both our parents...it was really special!

Here is a picture of my belly at 6 weeks! Already a lil pooch ;)

Stay tuned for more....

Jennine's b-day

We decided going to the water park in Paso for my birthday would be the most fun. This is really due to the fact that Marcus would have a blast; therefore, I would be a happy camper. Of course, all went as planned. I really enjoyed having my friends and family surrounding me this year. It was such a treat and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
Here is a picture of the mommies...names in order are Kerrily, me, Christina and Ana. We are trying to put the kiddos down for a nap at the water park so we could go on some big kid rides. :)
We are playing ring around the rosie...Marcus did not want to stop!! So precious!

Curtis with Riley, Marcus and Alexa...

Here is a shot of Ana and I outside on my mom's balcony. I wish I could say we were enjoying a cocktail but not as easy when you have kiddos running around the place. Ana and her two kids stayed with us for a few days. They are like extended family. So it was really hard to say goodbye to them and our other family members. Back to normal life again...it's gonna take a few days for Marcus to adjust.

Music together

As I mentioned before Marcus loves music. We have been going to a music class called Music Together for a several months now. It has really nurtured his love for music and encouraged his confidence and creativity. Here are some pics from the winter session...my parents tagged along with us to one of the classes so you'll see my mom in a few shots (she totally got into it).

Music man

As always, it has been forever since I've blogged. Life just gets so busy and then I crash and burn. I will eventually catch up for those of you that don't know what we've been up to...in the meantime, here's some fun new info/pics...

Marcus LOVES music...he is our little musician. Did I say, LOVES...yes, LOVES making music!!! He takes after his daddy (the drummer) in that area. He really enjoys dancing too, which he got from me. :) He finds music in all kinds of random things. We catch him drumming or dancing to that beat he has found. He also carries his guitar (ukulele) around the house constantly...we often see him playing it while singing and dancing. Here is a pic of our own little Dave Matthews...
Now he is modeling for mom...

Here is us being silly!!! We have a lot of fun together! We are quite a goofy pair. :)

Curtis and I celebrated our 6 yr wedding anniversary yesterday. What an amazing 6 yrs it has been...we are going on 9 yrs total time together. And even though marriage can have some stormy seas, we couldn't imagine having anyone else as our first mates. :) Thankful we always find those calm seas around the corner. We feel so blessed to have a strong successful marriage through it all and are looking forward to many many more years together.

Much sadness...and bittersweetness

Drs orders, I had to wean Marcus...they found a lump in my breast. Did a mammogram and ultrasound but all were non-conclusive. May have to do a biopsy but will have to wait until milk is completely gone before knowing how we will proceed. The last time I nursed was May 12th. The weaning process went a lot better than I anticipated. The first 2-3 nights were pretty rough but now he is doing great! Please pray for us.

Swimming baby

Marcus has been taking swim lessons since he was about 4 months old. It's amazing what a water baby he has become...here are some pics from the winter session.

Doing "humpty dumpties"

He has come a long way with his back floats. He basically takes a nap during them now...so relaxed!

Our furry angel

As many of you know, we lost Sequoia (see left...our red dog...originally Curtis' dog) back in January. It happened pretty suddenly so we were and still are terribly shaken by her passing. Cancer took her to her final resting place. She stopped eating and we finally had to make a difficult decision. When the doctors opened her up to see if they could remove the mass, it was too large and too out of control. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye that day. It has been one of the hardest things Curtis or I ever experienced. We have lost family members and dogs in the past but nothing could prepare us enough to say goodbye to her. We thought she would out live the Springers considering she never had any problems (except the occasional dog fight). We miss her terribly but know she is resting in a beautiful place waiting for the other furrry boys and us (someday) to join her. Luckily she still comes and visits me in my dreams and we play for hours.
